Analysis - The Dollar and Dominance

Nothing flashy here. No clever sound business or comedy voices. Just interesting explanatory radio - telling you why the dollar arrived as top currency, and why its reign might be over. Good old Analysis. MP3 here.

Brilliant. I listened twice so I’d understand. I think I’ve learnt more about finance since the beginning of this crunch than in the previous 45 years. Why had I never heard of ‘the Nixon shock’?

Also really enjoyed contrasting this with the American way of explaining the crunch: two awesome episodes of This American Life in particular: The Giant Pool of Money (about the sub-prime mortgage thing) and Another Frightening Show About the Economy (about Credit Default Swaps). You can click to listen to the shows on each page.

Thank you for a wonderful resource. This is incredibly helpful in understanding what is happening in the economy.
