I Was Douglas Adams’ Flat Mate

December 22nd, 2008 by Russell Davies

We're supposed to be doing Christmas posts here at Speechification. I have failed. This is not one. But it's a splendid listen; stories of 70's bedsits, Cambridge studenthood, procrastination, long baths, unexpected success and early computers. Really nicely presented by Andrew McGibbon, and excellent use of music throughout. More radio should sound like this. MP3 here.

Er, doesn’t work – not as an MP3 or as a podcast. The MP3 dies after 2+ minutes and the podcast won’t add to iTunes

  2. Rupert Says:

    Marvellous. Thank you for this.

Loved this Audio Programme!! This guy should (ought to? deserves? warrants?) write a book on his experience. There is a large audience out there looking for the gentle, but true, anecdotes from the early, burly days of DNA, and this fellow sounds like he knows what he is doing … !!!

Where can I get the rest of this series? Seems that BBC4 isn’t podcasting because of the needledrop music bites … or is there another reason?
