The Shock of the Knee

February 17th, 2009 by Russell Davies

This is perhaps the best programme name ever - it's about the arrival of the miniskirt in the 60's and the influence of the 1959 House of Dior collection. Very good, straight-forward, entertaining popular history. (MP3 here.)

Somebody probably got into trouble for this name. People are discouraged from giving their programmes abstract or whimsical names these days. They don’t produce enough Google Juice. It probably ought to have been called “Mini Skirt Documentary (apparel, female, revealing”)
