Confessions of a Crap Artist
September 17th, 2009 by Russell DaviesHere's some more from the (no doubt extraordinary) archives of Mr Ken Hollings - a show he made in 2006 about, well, er, Philip K Dick certainly. And tape-recorders and typewriters. And the divine. And madness, machines and mass suicide. Including contributions from Kim Stanley Robinson, Ray Nelson, Brian Aldiss, Tim Powers and James Blaylock. This is brilliant stuff.

Really wonderful, gave a disorientating and terrific hint of what it might be like to have PKDs brain. Enjoyed the sound editing mucho.
Question though: what’s that haunting song that plays about 7′35″? The lyrics are something like ” How did you find yourslef losing your mind / are you here?”

S Maturin asked: what’s that haunting song that plays about 7′35″?
I think it’s Linda Ronstadt’s version of ‘I Believe in You’.

….to Phil – Thank you for identifying that song. I’m stunned as I was a big Ronstadt fan in my youth but did not know of this song before. (I started with Hasten Down the Wind and it was just a little bit harder – and more expensive – to get hold of back catalog in those days compared to now)
